A stapled security is a security that is made up of a unit in a Trust and a share in a Company. Because they are stapled together you cannot trade one without the other. In the case of listed securities, they are jointly quoted on the Australian Stock Exchange ("ASX") as "stapled securities". AEJ investors hold one Alinta Energy Limited (AEL) share and Alinta Energy Trust (AET) unit "stapled" together and jointly quoted on the ASX under the code "AEJ".

Issuer Sponsored
An Issuer Sponsored holding is maintained by the issuer of your securities via the Share Registry. Issuer sponsored securities can be traded through any broker whom you have given permission to access your holding for the purposes of buying or selling securities. Issuer Sponsored holdings are allocated a Shareholder Reference Number (SRN) prefixed by an 'I' and can be found on your holding statement.
Broker Sponsored
Broker Sponsored holdings are allocated a Holder Identification Number (HIN). Your SRN will then become your HIN prefixed by an 'X'.
